Style Guide: Casually Transitioning Outfits From Summer To Fall

This week, we wanted to continue our affordable fall outfit posts with these two fun casual looks. Here are some general rules we live by when shopping:
1. We try to take advantage of seasonal sales by purchasing only items that can transition from season to season. Although it might be tempting to grab trend items we missed out on last season, controlling the urge to impulse buy them always helps. We've learned over the years that by the next time summer rolls around, we never really feel the same way about these trend items.
2. We find that things like t-shirts and sweaters are always better vintage and/or with a heritage feel. We always found the best ones at vintage shops. Most of the time, we find that current trend t-shirts are inspired by passed eras.
3. We try to purchase everything in classic silhouettes/fits. This way, we are not dating our clothes to a specific time period.
Details for both of our casual looks are below.  We've also shared affordable alternatives to each piece.
