MIXING PATTERNS

As sisters, we have a lot of differences when it comes to our styles. Nuni is more demure while Nasteha is more edgy. Nuni loves clean lines while Nasteha appreciates mostly oversized silhouettes. However, the one thing we both have in common is that we both love a bold look. We’ve always heard that rule about looking at your self in the mirror before leaving the house and removing one thing. But we often felt it didn’t apply to us lol. We love layering and experimenting with mixing patterns and colors. There is something so chic about a lady who knows how to style herself in pieces that are not commonly styled together and pulling it off with grace. Women like Iris Apfel, Giovanna Battaglia, and Diane Von Furstenburg are among the fabulous women we find inspirational when it comes to mixing bold colors and prints.
We used to hear all sorts of rules growing up about not mixing certain prints such as stripes with plaid or horizontal stripes with vertical stripes, or not pairing certain colors together. But we find there are really no rules. Anything can look great together; all you need is some creativity and some confidence.

MASTER COLOR MIXING

One rule that might help elevate your look when mixing prints is to consider mixing colors within the same family of colors. Here’s a great guide on simple ways to master color mixing.
