CLASSIC PRINTS & PATTERNS
Style Guide: Styling Our Favorite classic prints & patterns
Season after season we see designers get super creative with patterns and prints. Some designers are a little wilder than others like Jeremy Scott’s “Fun Fashion.” We’ve seen him send models down the runway in clothing covered in cartoon characters, candy bars, and even cigarettes (as seen on Moschino’s runways). Although his artistic designs make for a great show, our “real life” interpretation usually consists of classic prints and conventional everyday patterns. Some patterns and prints are expected to be popular in certain seasons, for example, when you think spring; you automatically want to reach for floral pieces. One way we love to stay ahead of the trends and be chic through out all four seasons, is to collect pieces with timeless patterns and prints that could be mixed and matched with just about any simple wardrobe essential, or even those one-off wild pieces that you gravitated towards and just had to have. In our opinion, there is no rule when it comes to styling classic prints because they go with everything.
A few of the timeless classic prints that are sure to last in your wardrobe forever includes, stripes, plaid, polka dots, floral, and animal prints. Our looks this week feature two of our favorite timeless prints, the classic leopard print and houndstooth print.
We know classic prints can sometimes be labeled as boring or predictable, but we wanted to show our modern twist on how we style our favorite classic prints. As always, if you like these looks as much as we do, we’ve linked the exact or similar items for you to shop. If you want to see these looks in action, along with the rest of our winter lookbook, make sure to check it out on Sunday February 18th on our Youtube channel!
