SAN FRANCISCO

Travel Diary

I went to San Francisco to celebrate my birthday last weekend and I had so much fun playing tourist. It was my first time visiting the Bay area, and I was super excited to explore everything this beautiful city had to offer. One thing most people don’t know about San Francisco is that although it is in sunny California, it’s actually quite chilly. Most days are windy and foggy. Luckily, I did do my research before heading west, so I packed smart and went well equipped with jackets and sweaters. The one thing I love more than fashion is traveling and finding cool spots in different cities. I knew that San Francisco is popular for it’s many hills and it’s scenic views, so be prepared to do a lot of walking; which I enjoyed since I knew I wasn’t going to get in any gym sessions while traveling.

I made sure to pack a pair of sneakers and flats, and ended up splurging on a couple more on my birthday. What I was happy to discover about San Francisco is that it is a great place to shop. The boutique options are endless and quite overwhelming to be honest. During my short visit I got to check out a few of my favorite shops in Union Square. However, my favorite shopping experience was on Haight street which has a lot of vintage, consignment, and thrift shops. I had a really good time exploring Wasteland and Buffalo Exchange.

CHINATOWN was another area I loved walking through. It was interesting to find out that San Francisco has the largest and oldest Chinatown outside of Asia. I’m a huge fan of Asian beauty products and foods, so naturally, I spent an entire day in Chinatown, and had a blast.

Brunch is my favorite meal of the day, so I was thrilled to discover the variety of really good cafés and brunch RESTAURANTS that San Francisco has to offer. My favorite restaurants I would highly recommend are Café Reveille, Garden Court at Palace Hotel, Serpentine, and Home Café.
